In checking recruiting results for other schools, several BCS schools have signed 27, 28, or 29 recruits; however, Ole Miss takes the prize for most recruits penned on LOI Day with 37 signees. How many are non-qualifiers? I suspect there are several that will be on the outside looking in or playing next year in JUCO ranks.

2010 should be another exciting year for Minnesota fans when it comes to recruiting. I can't help but think the new additions to the coaching staff should pay dividends. Kevin Cosgrove has a reputation of being an outstanding recruiter and Jedd Fisch and Tim Davis should bring new energy and greater productivity in recruiting than their predecessors (Mike Dunbar and Phil Meyer). Plus, with the completion and game day experience at the new on-campus, outdoor stadium the coaching staff should have great success in getting the attention of not only the in-state recruits, which should be a banner year, but national recruits as well. I would imagine we'll see and hear a lot of reports about the new state-of-art stadium.

Any chance that Minnesota may sign a late recruit or two? And how many slots do you expect to be available in 2010?

Hopefully many of the in-state recruits will cast their lot with the Golden Gophers sooner than later, ala Josh Campion.

Go Gophers!!

It wouldn't surprise me to see at least some of the MN kids to wait a bit and see how the offense and defense play under the new coordinators. Hopefully, they'll like what they see and become Golden!
