Recruiting Schedule, Quiet and Dead Periods
November 27-January 28: Contact Period. During this time, coaches are allowed to visit recruits off campus. Coaches can make only one visit per week to individual recruits. Also during this window, coaches must be aware of intermittent Quiet Periods and Dead Periods (during which no in-person contact is allowed) set for the following dates:
December 11: Quiet Period (for junior college prospects enrolling mid-year only)
December 12-15: Dead Period (for junior college prospects enrolling mid-year only; staff may have contact with recruits who have been admitted for mid-year enrollment)
December 16-17: Quiet Period (for junior college prospects enrolling mid-year only)
December 18: Quiet Period
December 19-January 2: Dead Period (staff may have contact with recruits who have been admitted for mid-year enrollment)
January 8: Quiet Period
January 9-12: Dead Period (staff may have contact with recruits who have been admitted for mid-year enrollment)
January 29: Quiet Period
January 30-February 2: Dead Period. [Note: Feb. 2 is "national signing day," the first day that recruits can sign a National Letter of Intent for their school of choice.]
During a NCAA-mandated "Quiet Period," in-person recruiting activity is limited to contact on campus, as part of an official or unofficial recruiting visit.
During a "Dead Period," coaches cannot:
Make in-person recruiting contacts
Conduct in-person evaluations -- on or off-campus
Schedule official campus visits
Allow unofficial campus visits
Offer complimentary tickets to games
