Who was the recruit walking around with Tubby today at the "football game"?
 



If this game influences Coleman at all, I think we can kiss him goodbye.

Hopefully Tubby can help him see that the basketball program is completely different from football right now ...
 

So he takes an official visit for South Dakota? Sounds like an odd choice for an official visit.
 


I don't think Joe made his choice of when to visit the Gophers to review their basketball program based on who the football team was playing. I would also be surprised if Dan's decision to join or not join the Gopher BB program would be influenced by how well the football team played today.

His other 2 visits are Santa Clara and Iowa St. I don't consider either one a football powerhouse.

He lives in the Twin Cities. He's been on campus a hundred times probably. He has been to a few football games over the years. This official visit is simply a formality. He wasn't going to learn anything new about the situation. It isn't like he and his parents were flying in from 1000 miles away, etc. I did see Joe and Tubby walking out on the plaza prior to the game, followed by the entire hoops team. I think Joe will be a Gopher.

I think he wants to decide in the next month, so he scheduled this one now, he has Santa Clara next week, and Iowa State the week after.

If football had any influence on basketball recruiting at the U, we wouldn't have a basketball team at all. Also, considering the football prowess of the other two schools he is considering (Santa Clara and ISU), I am not very concerned about his decision being influenced by football. He gets a lot more credit than that from my perspective.
