24 Seniors who are suiting up in the Maroon and Gold for the last time on Saturday (okay, maybe not Troy).

Some of the names you know, some you don't. Some of them starters, some of them regular contributors, some of them never played a down.

Every one of them made the commitment to their school and to their teammates to practice every day, prepare all year round, and keep up with their obligations in the classroom in order to stay eligible.

There aren't too many that know what kind of sacrifice and commitment it takes to participate in athletics, all the way through their senior year, at the collegiate level. That in itself is a monumental achievement and I hope we all reconize that this Saturday. The amount of time put in at practices, position meetings, film, weight lifting, conditioning, all while being expected to do what it takes to stay academically eligible. For most, it's simply way too much to handle.

It's easy to say we'll miss guys like Tinsley, Royston, Bunders, Wynn, Kirksey, et al. But take a moment to consider what kind of dedication and love for the game, sacrifice, and commitment to your TEAMMATES it takes to go to "work" every day knowing that you're probably never going to get in the stat book. That takes a special kind of person.

Thank you to ALL of the seniors.

Great thead Ogee!

If, err I mean, WHEN the U turns this thing around these guys should be proud of themselves that they helped lay the groundwork.

Side note: I hope Stoudermire isn't one of them.

Nice thoughts, Ogee - you're absolutely right.

Great thoughts! Excellent read. One thing though, Wettstein is a Junior.

I'm guessing you copy-pasted the list off of the Gophersports article? I don't understand some of the names on the list. Many of the walk-ons (Haviland, Gatling, Glickstein, Lueck, Wettstein) are not seniors. Wettstein better not be since he looks to be our kicker next year and Haviland will likely continue to get playing time at safety as well.

Congratulations and Thanks to all the seniors for sticking it out during some rough times. Gopher Nation will remember you always....

Busted!! Yes, when I went to GopherSports to access the roster for my post, there was that article! Looked like somebody did the leg work for me and I just assumed it to be correct. In a rush to get out of the office, I went with it. My apologies for the inaccuracies, plagiarism be damned

I respect these kids, especially the original Mason recruits, cause this program has gone through an absolutely ridiculous amount of change for a 5 year period of time, it had to be hard to go through that when you come in expecting to have one coach for 4 or 5 years and hopefully not more than a few coordinators, and then you get here and it's essentially a revolving door.

Great thead Ogee!

Agree with this sentiment as well.
