Will Fresno State's two most difficult games end up being the first two?

BarkBoard projected the Bulldogs' season-opener at USC to be the toughest game on the schedule, followed by the Golden Gophers.

Even though Minnesota scored a less-than-impressive 28-21 win over South Dakota State last weekend, do keep in mind that South Dakota State ranks as the No. 3 team in the FCS rankings. Other top-ranked FCS programs like James Madison, UC Davis and Northern Iowa all put up similar fights against Power-5 teams last weekend.

The Golden Gophers still remain with the biggest and strongest personnel on Fresno State's schedule left to play, and should still be the most difficult challenge to go with USC in the rearview mirror.

That board is like a train wreck. It's so awful it's hard not to look.

Okay, I realize that anything can happen and I'm not saying that Fresno State couldn't surprise everyone and win big. Those things do happen. But the uniformity of the predictions on that board is shocking. There seems to be no time for contemplation or reflection out west.
