I don't expect Brew to go 0-7 at home this season, but I'm thinking that 6 home losses in 1 season might be a Big Ten Record, and 7 home losses would surely be a Big Ten record. Has any other Big Ten team ever lost 6 or 7 games at home in 1 season. Maybe NW? Anyone else?

Good points. I was thinking there were only 6 homes games in '07, but that was wrong. But 7 losses at home, if that were to happen, might be a record.

On September 25, 1982, the Gophers beat Washington State, they did not win another home game until September 8, 1984 against Rice. That was nine consecutive home losses. Only five of those losses, however, were in one season.

Seven home losses in a season would be a dubius team record, but I don't know if it would set a conference record (although it would certainly tie the conference record - at best).

Beat me to it. Basically look at any 1 or 2win team ever and you'll likely see a 6 loss home season. Illinois in 2006 is another example.

Ummm....Gophers in 2007?

DING! DING! DING!! We have winners!!!

This "it can't happen here" mentality or even the "it hasn't happened here in a loooong time" mentality is one of the crippling aspects of the last 40 or so years of banality and failure.

Hey dude... lay off.

I did not editorialize the information, I only provided it. Don't categorize me as have any particular "mentality" when it comes to the Gophers.

Your criticizing people on this point is antithetical to your tag-line about those failing to learn from history.

I did not mean to lump you in to the "blinders" mentality. You guys popped off six or seven instances to refute the question, in seconds.

To say "we can't have a six or seven loss season here" is a prime example of not remembering history. The asking of that question is the "blinders" mentality.
