Shannon "Hand the Ball to the Ref" Brooks. I like this guy.

Welcome aboard!!!

Brooks reminds me a lot of Cobb. Has good initial burst, can change direction, has good balance, but doesn't have top end speed.

Nice pick-up, now what do we do with 3 RBs in this class?

Now you did it. Let's open up 'Move player A or player B to defense' discussion again. :horse:

Okay...well...let me be the first to say, Welcome Mr. Brooks!!! It's great to have you as a Gopher.

Looks like a RB year. Cobb is 65% of RB carries through 2 games and Kirkwood has another 10%. Will be lots of competition for touches next year.

Kinda figured this commit was coming after he named the Gophers the favorite and just from some of his tweets. Like the way he runs the ball and does seem to be a little like Cobb.

Seems from that Hudl video, posted earlier in thread, that he has an uncanny ability to changes speeds in order to make defenders miss/over pursue.

He's "one of us" now!! Welcome.

Welcome! I like that we are getting all these kids from Georgia, they play some good football down in those parts.

I wouldn't mind knowing what swayed him towards Minnesota over his home state school, GT. Either way.....welcome Shannon!

I don't really follow GT football. Are they still very very run oriented? If so, even better to get a RB from GA with a GT offer.

I'm very familiar with the Pickens/Jasper area where he is from. Only about an hour north of Atlanta but other than geogrphy, no reason to go to Tech unless he wants to be an engineer. The football program there is second fiddle and honestly isn't better than Georgia Southern. In addition, the NCAA just extended some sanctions against the program into 2016. Not called the ramblin' wreck for nothing!

I'm loving the kids Kill is getting out of my home state. The Gophers will probably never get any of the top 50 players in this state, but Kill needs to have a presence here (so does Pitino). This state is loaded with talent. It is right up there with FL, TX and CA according to most experts.

Seriously, excellent addition.

Exactly what I thought. Seems to me like he added some bulk and lost a step from Jr. to Sr. year. Great instincts and change of direction though.

How the hell can anyone justify the phrase "lost a step"? How is that step measured, and with what?

I mean no disrespect, Doc, butt as a proctologist you can't be expected to understand what some of the podiatrists here do.

Welcome Shannon, Go Gophers!
