Go Gophers!!
This is great to see - especially since I think some have said he was an academic redshirt this past season.
I would think he is feeling very good about himself right now. Life is coming together nicely for him.Academic issues are likely the reason he decommited from Alabama and Georgia. It sounds like PJ gave him a chance the others weren’t willing to give him, and he’s holding up his end of the bargain so far.

As someone who covered sports in Georgia, Cheney is one of many many kids in the public schools down there who is not set up for qualifying for a D1 scholarship. Teachers pass kids so they can keep graduation rates up (and they can keep playing sports), but they often cannot pass an ACT/SAT or in some extreme cases (like Gary Moore a few years back) not even read at a high school level. Very sad state of affairs.
In the case of Moore, he worked very hard with tutors and became Academic All Big Ten. He really made the most of his scholarship. Hopefully Cheney can do the same and become a true steal on the field that PJ opened the door for.
