How are rankings going to work? I see the Big10 teams will basically keep dropping in the rankings until we start playing? Will everyone be to far behind once our games start to get a legitimate shot at the playoffs?

So what will be considered the final month give or take? Mid November? It will definitely be interesting.CFP rankings are the only ones that matter, and they don't start until the final month (give or take) of the season. AP and Coaches polls that are coming out now are done with different methodologies and by different people.
The only rankings that matter are the CFP rankings. The good news is that Oklahoma and LSU already have losses and may surely accumulate more. In the end, any undefeated BIG team will surely be invited to the playoffs as long as they actually get 8-9 games in this season.
Looks like Big Ten teams are back in the rankings. They all took a bit of a tumble.
11-2 Gophers are on the outside looking in.
No worries though. SEC Auburn is sitting at #7.
