He sounds like a guy getting ready to coach in a BSC game. Hmm. Maybe it is Petersen.

They all sound that way until the $$$ flash in their sleep.

As I noted in the other thread, it's not like he's not gonna announce he's leaving in a post game interview. Really means little.

I was just thinking the exact same thing. How does this guy take off on a flight at 3pm tomorrow after winning this huge game. Something doesn't sit right.

That said, I would love to have Randy Edsall here.

Feel bad if he is

to leave those players and that program after such a big win. Would almost be wrong.

My impression, too; also, not a word from ESPN announcers about any rumors...

I'm curious, what were you expecting him to say if he is indeed leaving?

He's not going to sound like that now. It would be wrong if he did. You do wonder if he will have a Glen Mason/Hayden Fox moment and change his mind though.

hard to tell based solely on an interview following an improbable 52 yard field goal to nail down a bcs bowl bid... still, i was thinking the very same thing.

i didn't necessarily hear that. Did you want him to say, "It was a nice win, but there something else I want to get off my chest. Minneapolis is cold and the people are simple and folksy, but Storrs is nothing and they should just burn Hartford and start over. I don't ever want to hear about women's basketball again. So, I'm flying into Blaine tomorrow on Denny Sanford's plane."

That's a good point. And by all accounts he really is a stand up guy. Although everyone understands this is a business, it sort of goes against his character to bail like that.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Maybe I'm losing my mind.

I dont think he will pull a Brian Kelly and ditch his team before a BCS game, he sounds like an honorabale guy but what do I know?

How did Kelly sound after winning the Big East last year?

How would a guy sound who was going to leave?

"Oh, that was an awesome win. Gritty effort by these kids to pull it out. Too bad I won't be around to coach them in a few weeks. Ooops, did I say that out loud?"

someone on Twitter just had a good point.

They said "I can't see Edsall leaving, it is to easy to win in the Big East."

And that is true. No matter how crappy the Big East is, you can be no more than mediocre and go to the Orange Bowl!

If I remember correctly, Brian Kelly sounded like a coach who was leaving last year after Cincy's last regular season game. I dunno.

+1 for the thread. Watching him I thought the same exact thing--- his excitement, absolutely no sign this was the last game he'd be coaching at UCONN.

"We're going to a BCS bowl game."- Edsall

Yeah, I don't think it sounds like he is leaving either.

of course, "no comment" from his agent when asked if he's leaving doesn't sound exactly like a guy who's staying either.

Perhaps he'll be allowed to coach his BCS bowl game?

Come on guys, there is no way in the exit interview after winning the Big East Conference that Edsall is going to say, "I'm real proud of the guys, we lost a lot of good men out there, I'm going to Minnesota." Anybody that thinks there would be any sort of hint or body language otherwise is out of their mind.

No but saying "we're going to a BCS bowl game," makes me think.

You people on here who think he doesn't "sound" like he's leaving absolutely slay me. I mean, I have no clue whether he's leaving or not, but really, you think you can tell by the way he "sounds" in an interview after an emotional win whether he's staying or not? Seriously?

And for those who think this would be a poor way to leave his team hanging, I can almost see no better way. He's leaving them with them going out on top. His final speech can be, "Guys you played your hearts out and won the conference. You earned it. Go out and win the Orange Bowl. I'll be rooting for you."

"Randy Edsall, you just won the Big East Conference, what are you going to do now?"

"I'm going to Dinkytown!"

What do you think he'd say if he was truly leaving? "They're going to a BCS bowl game. I'm so proud of them. I mean, we. Did I say they? I meant we. Aw, $#*" Seriously, I want to know what people think he would've said if he's truly leaving.

Update. Bob Stoops doing his postgame interview. Doesn't sound like a guy ready to leave Oklahoma. So we maybe can count him out.
