Introductory news conference statement:“I’d like to thank you all for being here. It’s good to be back on the campus of the University of Minnesota. I enjoyed my two years coaching at TCF Bank Stadium with the Vikings, and I’ve always felt welcome here. Frankly, I’m not quite sure how I’m going to conduct practices for this team and the Vikings simultaneously, let alone coach all these other teams, but I’ve never one to back away from a challenge. The good news is we play on Saturday and the Vikings play on Sundays. So I think this is a good fit and I look forward to the opportunity.”

First move: Firing an assistant coach. Why? Because he wants to.

Likely outcome: Zimmer becomes the first coach in history to win an Super Bowl and a college football national championship in the same season. The Buffalo Wild Wings across from TCF Bank Stadium is torn down, and a 100-foot statue of Zimmer replaces it.

Zimmer seems like an alright guy for the Vikings job now but he ain't done anything other than a division banner so far...

Ruppert, they could of won the super bowl and you'd be down on them because it wasn't back to back. So forgive me if I don't see 3 field goals as the same downer you do...

He's a good coach that will do some good things for the Vikings. Obviously Rand's comments are tongue in cheek and not meant to be anything other than silly.
 

They would all stink because there are only 24 hours in a day.

Wow Mike Zimmer fever is catching on pretty quick given that he hasn't won anything in the 1 sport he's paid to coach
 

sounds like vikingville has already anointed its savior. You want crown his ass then crown him. I think he is a good coach but is spiel man a good enough GM. Also if I am DL I'm standing up and blocking all of teddys throws with that loop motion.
 

What if the Vikings had a kicker who could make a 27 yard field goal? Like most of the metro area high school kickers???

The problem with an offense that produced 3 field goals is that they needed 4 field goals. THAT wasn't silly...that was just another loss in a meaningless situation for a meaningless team..." playing on the Gopher home field for the LAST time. There was a certain amount of poetic justice in that situation.
