Ralph Sampson will play, Tubby Smith says

Nothing against Ralph, but I hope EE gets the start and vast majority of the minutes regardless of Sampson's health. Time to start building for the future.

If you're happy that we're in the NIT because it gives us more games then Ralph's playing time should be determined by how he's playing; not some pre-conceived plan based on next year. If Engaged Ralph shows up, it increases our chances of winning. I wouldn't have much respect for Tubby if he kicks Ralph to the curb simply to play for next year. The guy stayed with the program for 4 years and, from, all indications, represented the U as an athlete and student pretty well. EE has gotten, and will get, enough minutes. These extra minutes aren't going to get him to the next level. It's going to be the work he puts in this off-season in the weight room, developing his moves, and, hope to God, working on his free throw shooting. I know pharmacygopher's post wasn't anti-Ralph, but there have been some comments that have been.

10 fouls > 5 fouls

I think we need to dominate the paint to win this matchup.

After looking at the size of the LaSalle line-up, I'm sure Tubby will try to take advantage of MN's size. When he tried that earlier in the year it didn't work and he had to change to a smaller line-up. If MN's inside game isn't productive early and LaSalle players are leaving Ralph and/or Elliott in the dust, I wouldn't be surprised to see both Ralph and Elliott on the bench in favor of a faster and more athletic lineup. This will certainly be a game of contrasting styles.

This is what I'm worried about. In the past when Tubby has decided to go big, we would get blown away by teams that can shoot the ball. They've supposedly got a point guard who can drive pretty well, and I'm curious to see how they shoot from 3. #55 Galloway, the transfer from South Carolina, can get hot and they have a couple other guys who are hit-or-miss. As much as I hate to say it, I think the game will come down to La Salle's shooting if we go with a big lineup. I just hope our big guys can cover the 3 point line better than they have in the past.

I don't know. We did pretty well the second half of last year when we started two centers and had Rodney at the SG! (at least vs Northwestern anyway)
