at his size that has to be more rare to have 2 rebs than it does 6 rebs in 29 minutes, no?

Well considering that he is always playing with Mbakwe and Williams at the same time....and they combined for 23 rebounds....there really wasn't too many balls for him to get to tonight. No way they both have a double double if Sampson isn't doing his part and putting a body on someone.

I don't think there's any excuse for having 2 rebounds in 29 minutes at that size.

He finally took the ball to the hole tonight, only to be stuffed badly. I wish he would have been able to complete the play and gain some confidence going towards the rim.

____

Colt-Mo combined for 11 boards in 23 mins.

The gophers in general killed Akron on the boards. So what if he didn't have many. Other gophers had a lot.

perhaps him being away from the rim more drew their only rebounding threat away to give other guys a chance. maybe this was actually on purpose? we cant criticize the guy not knowing the whole story. like others have said. its not like no one got rebounds

Do you think he should have fought over the ball with his teammates? Steal the ball from Mbakwe and Williams just so he gets credit for a rebound?

+1000 We dominated the boards last night get over it.

seriously, we won 45-32 on the boards. with as many beastly interior players as we have, it really doesn't matter at all that ralph only ended up with two, especially with a guy like mbakwe gobbling up everything.

Ralph is 6-11 and plays center. Do you really think he's doing a good job when his smaller teammates that don't play center outrebound him THAT badly? I'm not telling him to steal a board. I'm saying he should do a better job in the first place so that they would need to steal a rebound from him.

i have an explanation, maybe it has to do with all the 3 pointers taken againist us? ever think of that? long rebounds usually go to mbakwe, williams, or hoff. its hard for ralph to get boards when the ball lands 13 feet from the basket.

This is just another example of people that use "stats" only to determine a players value in the game justifies the statement figures can lie and liars can figure. Stats people such as we see on this thread plainly use stats only to make a judgement, and do not follow all aspects of the game at hand. No wonder they are not playing or coaching.
