@Michigan State - Getting their butt kicked by Washington (although making it kind of interesting here late in the 4th). Have been less than impressed by MSU any time I have seen them play in the past 2 seasons. They have some playmakers on offense but they are a team we absolutely can beat if we play well. Unfortunately they will probably fall all the way out of the rankings after this one but might still be in the back of the top 25 next week.

Purdue - They simply can't run the ball and one dimensional teams are much easier to beat. Wild 4th quarter with Syracuse. They are decent but are nothing special.

@Illinois - Off this week. Have looked ok but don't look like contenders to me.

@Penn State - Impressive win on the road against Auburn. After MSU's performance tonight Penn State easily looks like the toughest remaining team on our schedule right now.

Rutgers - Didn't see their game but they just barely got by Temple. If we are the team we hope we are we won't have trouble with a team like Rutgers.

@Nebraska - Oklahoma kicked the crap out of them, will they have any fight left by the time we play therm? Not a good team.

Northwestern - Lost to Southern Illinois....nuff said.

Iowa - Managed 17 points in one half against a team that gave up 55 to Incarnate Word. No mystery here, Iowa's defense is good, their punter is amazing.....score 10 and you win.

@Wisconsin - Blew out New Mexico State....been there....done that. Guessing things are not going to go well for them next weekend against Ohio State.

Heading into conference play the West title is 100% within reach. Will have many tough games but have yet to see anyone on our schedule that scares me. Penn State will probably be the toughest test we face.

Non-conf games are out of the way for the most part.....time to see what happens in conference play.

good breakdown, i do think by the time we play iowa and uw they will be playing much better

I hate getting ahead of myself ... but if we can find a way to rattle off the next three -- which will NOT be an easy task!! -- then it potentially sets up a HUGE matchup, like in 2019. They will want that one so badly...

Everyone will step up during B1G season! It’s go time for every team now!

Sconnie maybe, but not so sure on Iowa. If they lose to Rutgers this weekend they could be looking at a really rough year with Ohio State and Michigan still on the schedule along with MN, Pur, Wis of course.

Their margin for error every weekend is crazy slim.

Teams like Purdue and Illinois scare me, they seem to play up every few weeks and you just never know when that will be. Oh and I am not a fan of Bret B, I hope we crush his cocky face.

I cannot remember a game this early that I feel will determine the season. The last one I thought could have launched us into the BIG championship was at PSU and we lost in overtime. This week feels like that game to me.

I don't know that game 1 in the conference can ever determine the season, however a win would definitely confirm that a lot of what we saw in the non-conf was for real and we have a chance to be really good.

Penn State could be fun

Sparty has had some key pieces injured...if they get Reed back that changes their look...get the DT Slade back, get their secondary healthy, they look better.

Purdue had Doerue out...they will test our secondary

Iowa also has had some WRs missing, some oline injuries

Bielema and his staff are good, the RB and WR are weapons

Wisconsin is always a battle

NW, RU, NE,
