After a two week break, Dave Mona will return to the Sports Huddle next Sunday morning.

Since his last appearance with Sid, and his asking questions of coach Kill, a couple GopherHole members submitted questions for Mona's consideration:

1) Bayfieldgopher: "What is happening at the UM to help create a better football gameday atmosphere, both in and around TCF? Of course other than winning."

2) killjoy: "Earlier you stated you didn't think you had enough bodies/talent to conduct a spring game. Now you seem to be saying there most likely will be a spring game. What caused you to change your mind?"

Please submit your questions for Dave's consideration in this thread. I'm sure those of you that have attended spring drills have questions that are general, technical, or personell-related. It's an opportunity to have your voice heard.

I will submit some questions in a few days.

Also, as broadcasters often say - a programming note, I may or may not be able cover next Sunday's show because of Easter Sunday commitments. If I'm able to transcribe a summary, it may be later in the day when it would appear on this forum. If I'm not able to listen to the live telecast, I'll take notes and write up a summary after I listen to the podcast.

In any case, again, please think of questions that you'd like asked of coach Kill.

Go Gophers!!

Recruiting, what type of criteria do you use to go after the recruits where you have a lot of competition? Such as 1) good relationship with coach 2) first to offer 3) past success with that high school 4) very positive feedback. Also when does your energy go elsewhere when it comes to an individual recruit, there are so many offers when do you know when to cut your losses?

Coach Kill, how do you feel about a university serving beer to its own students in mass quantities?

Really? You have no idea how the sale of beer will go in the stadium, yet you make it sound like the focus is to sell specifically to students. For some reason, I thought the intention was to sell it to season ticket holders who were of age. If that includes some students who are of age, then that is their right as an American citizen over the age of 21.

I thought this was the thread to suggest questions for Dave Mona to ask of Jerry Kill? Is this not that thread? This is a legitimate question and I would like to hear Coach Kill's thoughts on the subject. Why are you jumping all over my question and not any of the dozens of others that have been asked over the past few weeks?

And no, I'm not "making it sound" like anything. You're inferring what you want to infer. The facts are that many, many students will be purchasing beer at the beer garden if this ridiculous law goes through as planned. This is incontrovertible.

And spare me the "rights" nonsense. There are a lot of things that people have "rights" to do that aren't proper.

Unless you can predict the future, which I don't think you can, there is no way to know if this will be the case. Aren't you assuming that to be the case in an attempt to prove your point?

How do you propose that they prevent students 21 years and older from purchasing beer at the redneck beer garden?

By presenting their redneck/Walmart card of course.

No need to be inflammatory. Just ask how Coach feels about the university selling beer at their football games and leave it at that.

Sorry DL65, I think this thread has been hijacked.

Does Coach Klein have an over all index that combines squat, powerlift, bench, vertical, 40, shuttle, 10 yard time, et al. Second is it a policy or an oversight that these records are not on gophersports.com?

Do they, or are they planning on having an academic competition similar to the off season training competition?

This could be interesting. I guess you could say they are study groups going against each other. Idk how you would score that but that would be interesting.

Coach Kill, what did the spring game tell you about our offensive line and its ability to open up running lanes?

The leading nature of your question is what the OP may be disappointed with it caused an upswell in negativity. I'm disappointed. I thought the other thread was closed and the topic off limits. Now look what you did.

Phhhehh.

I'd like one of these two related questions asked. 1. Last week, you mentioned that great defense starts at the corners, could you comment on how you like to see the corners play? 2. Coach Claeys likes to play aggressive defense, which requires great athleticism, especially in the secondary. With all the changes; is the secondary developing well enough to fully implement his system?

All of the sweet videos being produced, were those your idea, or someone else's?

Do you feel the defense is ahead of the offense at this stage? It seems they have more talent and are really taking it to the offense.

Will you redshirt both frosh qbs?

Will you be passing to the H back/fullback ala Stanford?

How important is the UNLV game to your season?

Are students able to purchase beer at places other than TCF Bank?????

1) What specific areas have surprised you the most about this year's team during spring drills? Most improved area and the one you are most concerned about?

2) Approximately how many high school recruits (2013 & 2014 classes) have taken unofficial visits to the 'U' during spring drills? What's been their response to your summer camps for individual evaluation?

3) Are you still planning to add a walkon or two to this year's recruiting class?

4) Players in the coaching doghouse - "I let the team down" jerseys: What missteps lead to a player being issued a "I let down the team" jersey? Is there a specific duration in which they must wear the jersey? What must they do to shed the jersey?

5) Do you or your staff read the football message boards? (Frequently, occasionally or not at all.) Have you received feedback from current players or recruits/parents regarding topical material discussed on the football message boards?

Go Gophers!!

Do look to coaches in sports other than football to learn things they to be successful?

How do you keep the honed edge after Spring Practice? Some players will stay in shape, continue to work out hard on their own or with teammates, continue to learn the play book, take classes, etc., but summer is a big gap.
