Last Sunday, a good portion of the coach kill segment on the Sports Huddle was focused on the unexpected death of Gary Tinsley. However, Dave Mona did manage to ask three questions that GopherHolers had raised last week. He probably has a few more in reserve, as several good queries were submitted for his consideration. Nevertheless, here's your opportunity to ask a question of coach Kill via Dave Mona.

Thanks in advance.

Go Gophers!!

1) Do you expect one receiver to carry the load (as in the past), or will the offense allow MarQueis to be able to distribute the ball to a multitude of "go-to" receivers (thus keeping the opponents guessing)?

2) How exactly does the shift of Brock Vereen and Derreck Wells to safety change the defensive backfield scheme (and make us better)?

3) How will the rule changes on kick-offs affect your kick-off/kick-off return schemes? On kick-offs, are you more likely to try to take the touchbacks or create uncomfortable situations to pin the opponent deep?

Every year, most fans have renewed hope for their beloved Gophers, yet for most of last 50 years we have been disappointed. How do you truly feel this year's team will keep the hope of the fans up throughout the season?

We have a beautiful brand new facility in TCF Bank stadium, but what is your opinion of the practice facilities and offices? do you feel they are adequate, or is that the next investment, and if not, what is?

You've mentioned before that the best way to evaluate recruits is in person. Do you have a standard battery of tests that you run the kids through? What drills/sprints/lifts etc are most important for the physical aspect of the evaluation? Are they the same ones you use to track the progress of the guys in the program?

I remember hearing that the offense Minnesota was running last year was a more limited version of the offense that you ran at Northern Illinois. Approximately what percentage was it of your total playbook? Did you limit it because of the personal you had and/or the need to keep it simple in the first year? Lastly, how much do you expect the playbook will be expanded this fall and how could that increase the effectiveness of the offensive unit?

How do you feel about a university selling mass quantities of beer to its own students?

Question on the RB position:

Are you comfortable with a "running back by committee" approach, or would you prefer to have a clear "lead" back who receives the majority of the carries?

In a perfect world, what percentage of the carries would you want the lead back to have?

1) You've frequently stated: "Speed covers up a lot of mistakes." What are the measurables (size and speed) that you look for in runningbacks, defensive backs, linebackers and defensive ends? (You covered the measurables of defensive tackles a few weeks ago.)

2) When Jim Tressel was hired at OSU and during his first public appearance he focused and directed his remarks toward "That school up north." He obviously knew the importance, according to the Buckeye fan base, of not only competing against but defeating the Woverines. I'm confident similar thoughts are shared when Auburn faces Alabama; Oklahoma vs. Texas; Army vs. Navy, USC vs. UCLA, etc. Minnesota has two border rivals (Iowa and Wisconsin), do you emphasize the imortance of the two rvialry games that are extremely important to the Gopher fan base? Or do you try avoid the pitfalls of rising and falling emotions during the long season?

3) Is there any one playing position that will be emphasized or of focus during the upcoming recruiting season? Are you much closer to having a balanced squad? If not, how many recruiting classes will it take to get to the point of balance that you're striving for?

Go Gophers!!

How is Mr. Kill's health - Have they found a way to limit his seizures yet? Just curious to see how he's doing.

Without having the numbers in front of me - getting a TD after being in the opponents red zone doesn't seem to occur very often for MN. The D could pick off the opponent give the ball to the O on the 2 yd line and the team has a 50/50 chance of getting 3pts or 0pts.
for 2012 are you emphasizing short field plays?
