per the Quad City Times:

Welcome to the crossroads, the intersection of respectability and irrelevance.

Nearing the midpoint of the regular season and in terms of the Big Ten West Division race, that’s where the football teams from Iowa and Minnesota find themselves.

The Hawkeyes and Golden Gophers will battle for more than a 98-pound bronzed pig today in Saturday’s 11 a.m. game at TCF Bank Stadium.

With an early-season conference loss on their records, both are fighting for their lives in the division race.

“Our backs are against the wall,’’ Iowa running back Akrum Wadley said. “This is a big game for us and we do need to win it to accomplish the goals we’ve set for ourselves as a team.’’
