Quad City Times: Hawks show respect for Gophers

Rochester Post Bulletin: Gophers need to set a tone against Iowa

The Gophers defense, which is still below average, needs that running game as much as their offense does. It's paramount that Minnesota's new running identity holds up against Iowa. That would set a tone for the rest of the conference season. A 5-0 start sounds good, too.

Quad City Times: Gophers rally around epileptic head coach

“Coach Kill is a very tough person and he would want us to keep playing well,’’ Gophers defensive lineman Ra’Shede Hageman said. “There’s no panic. It’s something we’ve learned to deal with and we trust all of the coaches. We’re all in it together.’’

Good Lawd, that Post Bulletin article is horrible. Like 3rd grade writing horrible.

It is damn depressing that two Iowa outlets write better articles about the Gophers than the jaded local press are capable of.

Isn't that the newspaper that claimed the pass defense was terrible last year?

No idea. I just read this most recent arrangement of words that someone vomited on the pages of the Post Bulletin.

Hahaha, you're kidding right? I think i remember Fales passed for almost 300 yards in the first half against the Gophers last week. That is below average my friend.

Huh? Below average? Compared to what? Am i wrong in thinking the post's journalists might be hacks? Seems to me the defense being played is better than it has been in a long time.
