Q&A with Kyle Theret

I'm always amazed at the links you find Bleed, thanks!

Nice find. Interesting insight to the "brewster will be fired" situation before the Purdue game. It kind of annoys me that the media put our guys in that position. Maybe I didn't like it because I was rooting for the Gophers, but I knew I would be somewhat happy if they didn't win too.

"When we play (Ohio State’s) Terrell Pryor, (Northwestern’s) Dan Persa or one of these scrambling quarterbacks, it seemed like every 3rd-and-long the quarterback would take off running, and everyone would be deep and you couldn’t do anything about it, they’d pick up the first down on their feet"

I'm glad I wasn't the only one frustrated by this

The media DID NOT put our guys in that situation - the person inside the athletic department that leaked the info put the coaches, staff and players in that situation. Cory Roufs who broke the story, did his job, the person inside the athletic department that wanted to be seen as an "insider" for a night should have been fired.

Go Gophers!!

You have to say this about Theret, he squeezed every last once out of his abilities. I have a lot respect for that.

Two people were responsible for putting our players in that position:

Joel Maturi for hiring Brewster
and Tim Brewster for the way he performed on the job

None of the rest of it would have happened if Maturi would have chosen a more qualified candidate for coach and/or Tim Brewster would have delivered better results.

Kyle made a great college decision. I hope he got his degree?

He was instinctively a pretty good football player, actually.

He was just a full step and a half too slow to be an excellent football player.
