Big Ten Network's "The Journey" - Purdue point guard Lewis Jackson speaks [YouTube video]

I thought the description of Jackson from the Pregame Thoughts: Purdue 1/13/11 article was relatively complimentary of the little fella.

"#23 Lewis Jackson
An adorable midget, the 5'9" junior is a point guard that can distribute on offense and annoy the living hell out of the opponent when he's on D. Due to being a horrible shooter, especially from three (nonexistent skills from deep), he looks to pass and occasionally comes up with rebounds and loose balls when you think he shouldn't. In 23.6 mpg, he's averaging 5.6 ppg, 4.2 apg and 3.0 rpg. Can get flustered at times and if Minnesota is able to turn Purdue over, several could come from this Lucky Charms loving loser from Decatur, IL.
"

By the way, LewJack has 4 three-pointers against the Gophers this year and 2 three-pointers in his other 20 games combined... not to mention 8 offensive rebounds vs. Minnesota and just 19 in his other 20 games.

those previews have been a little outspoken about all the teams.. probably could do without that

Haha, awesome.

Bet he enjoyed showing off those non-existent shooting skills.

I used to like purdue bb. runt jackson is annoying as well as hack smith. If they didn't have jujuan they would be a an average team at best. I fel bad for rh next year being on a team as bad as they will be.

Anyone want to guess what Lewis Jackson is most insecure about?

If he took offense to that joke, I can't wait to see his reaction to what NBA scouts would say about him seriously ...

You realize that it was a segment about his height, right? So they were asking him questions about it? And he answered with short anecdote about his height?

And responded that it makes him angry to read that stuff ... I imagine he'd be upset if I said "that super short guy is amazing at defense, a great ball handler and a sensational passer."

I am fine with him using whatever motivation he needs to stay focussed and get up for a game or to prove people wrong, but if he really read that and started throwing a Charlie Sheen type fit and got "angry" ... that's a little odd, Especially since the majority of the article was pretty complimentary of him other than him being short and his outside jumper (which he did a lot to prove wrong).

I was pretty impressed with Jackson and how he played both games. But is anyone arguing that he is not, in fact, short? I am sure he has gotten jokes about it all his life and always uses it as motivation and I can definitely respect that. But why an article from a Gopher fan site makes him particularly "angry"? That I don't know ...

I guess my focus is more in his word choice of angry, I pictured him having a Bart Scott post-Patriots game moment after reading that. If he wants to say it motivates him, that's definitely a good thing, but being motivated and being angry are two different things. In the words of Tom Brady, "I've been called worse"

LewJack is my MAN! I wish we had him.

That being said, I love the GW "previews" as is.

The detailed player descriptions are set off perfectly by the humor. They make for great reading.

Keep it up GW.
