Purdue TE Drew Biber commits to Gophers

Kallerup's replacement?

Did God make Purdue lose all those games and fire the coach? Does Ryan Walters not have the favor of God? (he cites the coaching change for why he entered portal)
Lord works in mysterious ways. If the gophs lose to Ohio State in 1981 does Nick Saban get fired as DB coach and go on to be the greatest coach of all time?

Not a bad depth add, helps bridge the gap between Geers, Bierman, and the pile of young players. Seems to be an oft injured position.

All I know is that God definitely didn't like all those teams Alabama faced under him, and somehow God kept picking the team with the most money and highest ranked recruits, year after year, in spite of any other considerations.

If Claeys doesn't get the one year, do we get Fleck?

Now you've gone too far.

God certainly taking the amount of monetary offerings under heavy consideration

We should only recruit guys who don't believe in God.

Fleck definitely wouldn't have had the same shine a year earlier. If we had kept Claeys I'm guessing we would have lost our window and definitely lost our on some future really good gophers

I'll settle for guys who don't believe God cares about the winner of a football game, or what college a guy transfers to, and understands that sports are zero-sum and God's favor for that player/team usually means a negative outcome for the other party.

Does it really matter as long as they are good teammates, good people and help the team win.
I guarantee the Gophers currently have a combination of Christians, non-Christians and those somewhere in between.

so, on the current roster - which certainly can change during portal season - the Gophers have 9 TE's listed - and only Kallerup is out of eligibility.

reading the tea leaves - this would suggest that the coaches felt they needed a better alternative at the 'Blocking TE' position.

OR - the coaches think/know that some of the current TE's will not be on the roster next season.

on the "God" question:

… What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Tryin' to make his way home?

I know, I was being snarky. I am guessing he was referring to God as in his personal journey and his path in life. I didn't take his post as saying God didn't let Purdue win, but maybe I am wrong.

I personally don't subscribe much to the theory that recruits or their families care much about message boards, but in case they do check the main free board it does seem like kind of a bad look that the first couple posts after his commitment are making fun of him.

Only god knows the answer.

Maybe he is just grateful for the next opportunity and is showing that graciousness to something bigger than himself.

I realize most posters on this topic are just having fun, but I believe PJ's message and philosophy particularly resonates with spiritual people. Obviously most of those players are Christian given American demographics, but I sincerely think it's a non-denominational spiritual connection. For example, we know Mo Ibrahim still has a close relationship with PJ and very clearly connected with the message going back to high school. Two commitments from the portal so far this year, and both have been very open about their faith and spirituality.

Ah yes, so edgy of you to mock someone of their faith. You are truly courageous and brave for that. Scripture is right at your fingertips all you have to do is read it, or don’t. God gives everyone free choice, but he (God) wants a relationship with you
