Purdue is going to apply the same perimeter pressure or more, that OSU did for the first three quarters of the game (until OSU thought the game was in the bag). This will be a test of whether Tubby can make some adjustments to counter it.

We have been giving the boys credit for some nice moral victories on the road. That's over. If we are going to accept those losses because it's so tough to win on the road then there's simply no excuse for Purdue beating us in the Barn.

A must win or we will be a fringe tourney team again. Sick of moral victories from our major sports. Wisconsin, Michigan State, Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan, Purdue, Indiana, Penn State, Illinois and even Northwestern have had their time in the sun the last 20 years. When is it our turn?

Agreed.

Looking forward to it and don't feel great about it. A desperate team at home is tough to beat.

gave my South Dakota game tickets to a friend, had a HS game to go to the night of the Indiana game, so it feels like a long time since I have been to the Barn-- looking forward to it!!

gopherweirdo, what was your moniker last year?

Time for the boys and coaches to regroup and win vs Purdue.

There is no excuse for losing to Purdue; unless of course the sliding expectation crowd reappears........

hilarious. laughable. interesting. nxet.

Boilers Are Playing Very Well Right Now

W for Gophers would be huge.

I think Purdue, Ohio St, and Illinois are 3 best teams in B10 right now.

With this being Purdue's 1st real B10 test I'm really looking to forward/dreading this game.

Here are a couple of question for Purdue going into this game:
1. Does JJ stay out of foul trouble against the biggest opponent yet? If yes Purdue has a shot, if no it could ugly.
2. Does Moore pull out of his mini scoring slump? He only has 15 in the last 2 games combined.
3. Does Ryne Smith continue to be deadly from 3? He has 68 points in 4 B10 games.
4. Can Purdue's make shift 4 handle the Gophers size? Byrd, Carroll, Marcius will most likely all see minutes guarding a big.
5. Can Barlow and Jackson continue to handle the ball well and make smart plays?
6. Will John Hart come back from his injury(foot) and if he does, how effective will he be?

I'm terrified that Ryne is going to go cold in an important game. E'Twaun has been cold though, I know he'll find it.

This is a big game for Ralph and Colt. Please one of you show up. You will have a big size advantage. I think JJ will have trouble with Trevor and might even get in foul trouble. We have to pound it inside. But to do that we have to be strong with the ball as their chest to chest man to man makes it hard to set things up.

I wouldn't be surprised if JJ guards Ralph or Colt and they let Byrd, et al attempt to guard Trevor. Use the "Let Player A get his but shut everybody else down" idea. JJ is way to important to Purdue's success to put him in a bad spot on D early in a game.

I expect Purdue has not forgotten the BTT thrashing. Truthfully, we deserved to win the home game with them last year as well, so hopefully it bounces our way this time.

The real question is who is going to tear their ACL Thursday night.
