Purdue #1?

Wow...hadn't thought of that.

I just don't think they'll do it with Hummel being out. With Hummel out, they're maybe a Top 15 team, definitely not the #1 team in the country.

It'll probably be Syracuse if they get the big win against Villanova tonight.

Syracuse is going to pass Purdue if they win, just because Purdue is going to lose votes for Hummel being hurt.

I also don't really think Syracuse or Purdue will pass Kansas anyways.

As long as Kentucky got their asses beat I don't care.

The Boilers need to beat MSU at home tomorrow otherwise this is a moot point.

I think they should be #1. All of this talk about them not being as good without Hummel certainly has merit, but let Purdue decide that on the court. Until they lose a game, they shouldn't be penalized because of an injury. If they are indeed not #1, it will take care of itself soon enough.

They should move to #1 if they don't lose. That would mean they beat MSU without Hummel. So why on earth shouldn't they be #1. That's how the rankings work. Also, rankings are essentially meaningless.

Yes - they must W over Mich St to be #1.

Unfortunately, if Syracuse beats Villanova tonight, they will jump to #1. You heard it here first, even though that's not really going out on a limb.

If Villanova wins, Kansas will remain #1.

A more interesting question might be whether there's any chance Ohio State leapfrogs into a #2 seed. Ranked number 9 right now, they are on fire and maybe have the best player in the country. If they win the Big Ten tourney it'd be hard to deny them a #2 seed.

Yeah, of course. I think it's about 50-50.

Right now I'm really rooting for MSU vs. Purdue!!! But if PU wins and SU loses, then I think maybe PU should be #1.

Not that any of this matters, but this is how I think it should look...

If Purdue wins and Syracuse wins:
1. Kansas
2. Syracuse
3. Purdue
4. Kentucky

If Purdue wins and Syracuse loses:
1. Kansas
2. Purdue
3. Kentucky
4. Syracuse
