While lurking at the BlueWhiteIllustrated site came across this note from a PSU fan at the game yesterday:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I liked the atmosphere up here for sure ...

- It's a nice set-up they have. TCF Bank is a cool little stadium.
- No animosity at all toward the PSU folk.
- Kind of cold where I sat because that biting wind was directly into my face.
- I get the feeling they are building something up here. Minnesota football could be pretty decent in the West division over the next 5-10 years.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last one reads pretty well coming from a relatively unbiased observer (at least toward Gopher football in general). Also his "building something" comment aligns with the "brick-by-brick" mantra pretty well too.

Go Gophers! Enjoy the bye!

Our stadium is awesome! Fact!

Well...lets say it is cute and friendly and cuddly, but compared to Beaver Stadium, it's just not in the same category. Not just in size, the atmosphere is just so different. Same with Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.

I prefer cute and cuddly to monstrous in my FB Stadium and my women!!!

Large stadiums are nice if the school has 100,000 fans that need seats. But if all you need is 50,000 seats then the Gophers have the perfect college football stadium in every respect (now that fans can have a beer if they want).

While in the mens room line, some PSU fans were saying that troughs would make more sense in the mens room because it would go faster.
They obviously had never been to the dome.

You're right about the atmosphere at Happy Valley and Lincoln being FANtastic. I've been to both and while the atmosphere at Beaver Stadium is great, I attribute that more to the fans and tailgating than the stadium. Sure, it is very big but erector set like with bench seating that affords about 7-1/2" of a$$ room per fan. No offense to Beaver Stadium but I wouldn't trade TCF for it or any other stadium. Some call like to call The Bank but I prefer Mecca.

Go Gophers!
