Above is a quote I found on one of the PSU boards in an article by one of their beat wriiters. He also said that it was now a 4 game season because 2 of the 6 games left could not be lost. Minnesota was one of the two, the other was Indiana - I think.

I think Brewster should just cancel the game so no one gets hurt.
 

Obviously I know it's PSU, don't seem able to edit the title line.
 

Just more of the general Eastern media attitude that Minny is a "no problem", perpetual BT bottom-feeder...always in rebuilding mode.

We don't really have much of a counter-argument to that one. It'll be true until we step up and beat them...so here's to hoping that next season, they're wondering how to avoid a repeat of this Saturday.
 

It would be nice we had a couple of breathers like IU and MN on our schedule. I like being a 2 TD underdog. I just hope we don't play like one.
 


How about WI getting a bye?
That would be one more reason the BT scheduling sucks.
 

PSU is nothing special. They are beatable, just have to limit mistakes. Plus, it's not like PSU has absolutely owned the Gophers over the past decade. My count says the Gophers are 4-2 and that last loss should have a giant asterisk behind it.
 

There's one thing about those games where a loss is impossible. Now and then, teams lose those games, despite it being impossible. Go figure. The more a team feels it is impossible to lose, the more that can come back to bite you.

I'm sure Joe Pa is drilling it into his players heads that they have to take the game seriously. But players don't often get it, and can sometimes come out lazy. We'll need to take advantage of that early if we want to have a chance.
 

Agreed. Tough for Joe Pa to overcome player attitude: "Minny?...Absolutely no problem!"
 



That just makes it all the better when we come out playing like crazed animals and our Defense and ST carry us to a victory. Won't be as sweet as when we beat them and they were #2, but it will be a launching pad for Gopher Respectability in the future. Now, we gotta get this W, which in no way will be easy, but it is possible.
