Pregame Thoughts: at Purdue 1/29/11

"The #16/#18 Minnesota Golden Gophers (16-4, 5-3) travel to West Lafayette this Saturday, January 29, for their second game in just over two weeks against the #12 Purdue Boilermakers (17-4, 6-2). This torrid affair will be a nooner (12:05pm CT tipoff). CBS will handle the television coverage with Ian Eagle on the call and Greg Anthony doing color..........."

Your player capsules of the Boilers are spot on. As Moore goes, so go the Boilers.

Really a great job GW.

You should consider a career change. This obviously took some research time. I forget but have you ever done one of these from the other side of the table and critiqued our rodent lads?

One question, is "drug down" correct phraseology?

:)

I always enjoy reading your pregame. I still crack up about your Iowa pregame and the guy getting injured in practice. That was a classic. Unfortunately I have to agree with you on the prediction, as much as I don't want to. It will be interesting to see how Purdue goes at the Gophers defensively and how the Gophers react to it. (Section 201, man oh man, don't question GW on something of that nature. It'll come back to haunt you in the long run!)

I fear the Boilers will come out with amazing energy and aggression and it will lead to 20 turnovers by the Gophers and a blowout win for Purdue.

If the Gophers can withstand the first 8 minutes of pressure and stay within 5 at HT, then perhaps we can grind out a win by dominating inside, but I think all things point to Purdue getting revenge today.

I think he knows it was in good fun. (Hopefully)
