This might seem like a poll out of left field, but it does relate to the coaching search. How big the attendance is at the Spring Game will be an indicator of how much enthusiasm the new coach brings to the program. When Lou Holtz was hired, there was a really good crowd.

That can't be answered with the information we have now. The number could fluctuate wildly based on Maturi's move.

57000. They will have to set up simulcast over at mariucci.

Number of players multiplied by 3.

It'll the Tony Dungy and the Trestman family.

A Loyal Following For The Spring Game

The Gophers could hire God and he could demand that 50,000 + show up, and we'd still end up with less than 5000. Nobody cares about the spring game at U of M. I can't see that changing no matter who the coach is.

Holtz drew 40,000. Just so they actually have a real game (even if QB protected), unlike the one-hour scrimmages Brewster had. A real game with punts, kickoffs, etc., just like the big boys who get their spring games on TV (Alabama, Nebraska, etc.)

If it's Spring Jam Saturday again. between 5-10 students.

50,000 people if Mike Leach is the new coach. He won't be, so 7,500.

If there are really 40,000 people would be so motivated by a Leach hire that they would show up for the spring game when no other hire would motivate them to so do, surely you could get 1/10 of them to rally at the U for a Leach hire.
