2-weeks away from opener and I'm looking for a new 'spot' (ex-Sally's patron) to consume bloody's and beer with fellow die-hards that's near a light rail station-I live on west side of TC so prefer suggestions from that direction...trolls stay away!

They have been doing a pre game plaza party next to applebee's just across the street from where Sally's was. looks fun, but is usually emptied out by the time we stumble up from the river flats.

There is a sports bar called "The Hole Sports Lounge" that is a quick 1 to 2 minute walk from the Stadium Village/TCF Bank Stadium Green Line station.

P.S. I have also heard good things about the plaza party he reference above. It is actually put on/hosted the by The Commons Hotel during Saturday home games in their parking lot/entrance lot right out in front of the hotel on Washington Avenue.

Leaning Tower used to be in this spot - right? How is this place doing?

I believe so. To your other question, honestly I have no idea. Hopefully well, as I really like the location. Especially now that the Green Line is open and running.

It is a very good location for pregame activities. Patio as well. When Stub & Herb's is wall to wall - this is a good option.

Leaning Tower is gone and is now The Hole mentioned above.

Cardinal is my LRT pick. If coming from west metro, you can park & ride at Fort Snelling. Cardinal is right at the 38th St stop. You'll have to transfer Blue to Green lines to get to TCF, but that shouldn't be too hard.

I like The Hole, but it gets pretty cramped in there. Hopefully they take a bigger advantage of the patio and maybe toss a TV or two out there.

Anything downtown is now convenient to Gopher games with the light rail so there are tons of sports bars on 1st Ave near the light rail.

The hole... The past couple years if you pay $20 to park there they give you a $20 food/drink voucher for pre or post game. Not a bad place at all, but I'll take a tailgate lot any day.
