I am curious how the U's athletic teams that are going to be impacted by construction going to adapt to this temporary insanity...

Where are the football and track & field teams going to practice? How are they going to manage schedules and transportation to and from their temporary digs?

How is this going to impact the football team's practice time and quality? What about the players school schedules?

It will be interesting to see how everyone manages all these.

Beth Goetz and others in the Athletic Department have their hands full.

It will be well worth it in the end.

Ummm

I could easily be wrong but I don't believe they are tearing down the present football facilities in phase one. It's my understanding things will go on as they have until construction is completed of the new facilities. Track is off campus I believe.

Rumor has it, after early performances, the basketball team has been unable to practice

This. Evidently the basketball team doesn't practice anyway, the only one really effected would be track and field. Unsure of the progress of their new facility on the St Paul campus (which should take 4-6 mos?) I think this track season might take place at St Thomas or Hamline maybe?

I'm guessing it will all work out.

If memory serves me correctly, the current indoor football facility is not being torn down. It will be re-purposed for another sport (maybe wrestling or gymnastics). So, they will be able to use it until the new indoor facility is completed.
