This loss is not surprising. It is very hard to compete with traditional basketball powerhouses like Northwestern. We can't get the same caliber of recruits due to their brand new state of the art arena. Coupled with the tradition of excellence of that program, we are fortunate to have stayed as close as we did. If not for the brilliant coaching of Tubby and his crackerjack
staff, this easily could have been a 30 point blowout. This is exhibit A of why we should extend his contract. Any AD with a need for a new basketball coach who happened to watch this game now has Tubby on his short list. This is no time to be cheap! His salary should be brought up to exceed Tom Izzo's so we don't loose him. Failure to do so will lead us back to the dark abyss of the NIT. Hopefully he will get a lifetime contract. Does anyone know a good sculptor that can start fabricating his statue that will go up outside of Williams, I mean Tubby Smith Arena?

You haven't been reading the boards at all, have you?
