Stanford topped Northwestern 71-58, handing the Big Ten its first head to head loss vs. a Power 6 team. The Power 6 conferences head to head through Wednesday, Nov. 13:

Head to Head
1. Big Ten (3-1, 75%)
T-2. Big XII (4-2, 66.7%)
T-2. Pac 12 (2-1, 66.7%)
4. Big East (2-2, 50%)
5. ACC (1-2, 33.3%)
6. SEC (1-5, 16.7%)

Thursday Results
Alabama 76, Texas Tech 64 -- If middlin' SEC/Big XII basketball programs play on a court, does it make a sound?
Stanford 71, Northwestern 58 -- Good to see Drew Crawford back, but Chris Collins' bench looks painfully short.

Sunday Matchups
Michigan @ Iowa State, 4 p.m. (ESPN2)
South Carolina @ Clemson, 4 p.m.

I watched about a 16 minute (gametime) segment of NW-Stanford. NW scored 8 points. Stanford scored maybe 18. It was painful. They are both terrible if last night is any indication.

It was strange seeing Northwestern not running its usual (Carmody) stuff on offense. Will take some getting used to.

Will be interesting to follow the progression of the Pitino and Collins eras, with both starting their Big Ten coaching tenures at the same time.

Pitino in a better starting point you think?

I sat next to Tavaras Hardy on an airplane. Super-nice guy. Put me in the difficult spot of kind of hoping they're successful.

The funny part is that he and I were in row 7 or so, whereas Chris Collins was in row 40.
