I think clearly the B1G has taken a significant step back from last year. Michigan and IU are both way down from where they were last year - I think IU's chances of making the tourney this year are doubtful - and at this point it's hard to be particularly confident in either Illinois or Minnesota making the tourney again. Iowa, UW and OSU each may be a bit better but the drops that Michigan and IU had were big and the mid-level teams are down somewhat from last year as it's a virtual certainty that you will see less B1G teams in the tourney compared to last season.

as it's a virtual certainty that you will see less B1G teams in the tourney compared to last season.

The selection committee has to fill the brackets. Had 7 last year - can't call it a virtual certainty that there will be no more than 6 teams this season.

Good news is that it leaves a lot to be decided during conference play. Teams like Minnesota have a chance to make an argument for inclusion with a 9-9 or 10-8 record.

Tough week-end for the B1G. Michigan played great and came up short. Iowa played well too.

Selection Sunday, you think Huggins is feeling any heat at West Virginia? Rough year in 2012-13 and off to a 7-4 this year.

Maybe a little bit, but I think he's earned quite a bit of extra rope because of his track record of success. Not to mention, he's a WV grad, and he just took them to the Final Four a few years ago. It is strange seeing his teams playing so pedestrian.
