Keep in mind for the most part I'm valuing (perceived) quality of wins/schedule. Obviously, quality of wins/schedule is more difficult to ascertain early in the season.

Early on you'll see some crazy combinations for the 5 automatic qualifiers (see below) until we get into roughly the third week of the conference schedules, when there starts to be some separation. That's because the automatic qualifiers/conference leaders are determined by "best conference record", hence 1-0 is better than 0-0, 2-0 is better than 1-0, etc.

Just take a look at our top 4 teams this week and you'll see I pretty much determined the 5 automatic qualifiers based on the strength of their best (perceived) win. Teams that already have played a conference game have both their overall and conference records listed.

I explained why in the words above the projection (Sparty the only 1-0 Big Ten team). It’ll all gradually play out!
I guess I would consider the OR win over Boise St on par with MSU over MD. Sparty looked shaky vs an FAU team that Army beat pretty soundly. But true, MSU does sit on top of the conference conference right now!
