Just for the fun of it, I will throw some names out that could be possiblities for the new offensive coordinator. Add to the list if you like.

Major Applewhite, Texas: Knows Brewster. Knows Davis. Is currently a RB coach. Would be in charge of an offense.

Chuck Long, currently unemployed: Spread offense guy. Has a national title ring. Strong Big Ten name.

Dana Holgorsen, Houston: Spread offense guru. Young. Texas and Midwest ties. His offense was the #2 offense in the NCAA this past season. Minnesota would be a step up for him.

Tony Franklin, currently unemployed: This guy is a spread guru, too. Well respected.

Josh Huepel, Oklahoma: Spread offense guru. From the area. Ready for a step up.

Gregg Brandon, currently unemployed: Spread offense guy who has been a head coach.

Brandon is at Virginia

Gregg Brandon would've been a great hire but was hired by Virginia before Christmas to replace Al Groh's son.

How about Gus Malzahn (OC at Tulsa)? I am not sure I believe all the hype surrounding him yet, and his resume is a little thin, but he appears to have pretty good upside. Also, he just successfully recruited a 4 or 5 star QB who has previously committed to Michigan, so he appears to be a good recruiter/have the gift of gab.
