Pilots already getting spanked 38-13 by Washington.

Still say it's the Texas A&M game (if we end up on the bubble) that could cost us the most.

The good news is the Big 10 is looking wackier & wackier with each passing day. Ater Purdue and Michigan State, every other team appears to have serious warts, especially away from home.

Let's win 11 regular season Big Ten games so we don't have to sweat it out going into Indy.

SS, I think that it will be the Portland game that would cost us the most. Beat them and then get spanked by WVU and we leave Anaheim in much better shape.

I still have no idea what to make of the Big Ten. Michigan looks terrible. Illinois looks terrible. Wisconsin and Minnesota look terrible and solid at the same time. Who the heck knows what to make of Northwestern. Who knows how well Turner will be playing for OSU when he recovers. Michigan State lost to a team that just lost to a team today named the SPIDERS...what?!?

In that scenario I'd rather have the quality win over Texas A&M than the quality loss to WV. Either way we'd come out of there with 2 wins. At the end of the season I'd have rather held wins over Butler & A&M than Butler & Portland.

Plus, the win over Portland (like West Virginia has) is becoming less impressive every day.

We'll be fine if...

We can finish with 10 BT wins including at least one win agains Purdue / MSU. Won't be pretty, but that is a recipe for one of the final at large bids. More than 10 wins is about seeding.

I think Gophers will need 13 B10 W (including B10 tourney) to go with 9-3 OOC record.

Hopefully not, because that won't happen.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - we could have easily beat Portland by simply not doubling down on the passes inside. They are a 3-point shooting team. Sounds like everyone else knows what to do, just not the Gophers that game. Same thing haunted us the very next night against TA&M...who in the Big Ten will light us up from 3-land? Will we continue to double down against bad inside teams like PSU, too? Questions that we'll see answered soon enough.

Portland led the NCAA in 3 point percentage last year and was shooting 55% up until we played them. We held them to 8-25 (32%) from 3. While the doubling in the post does piss me off at times depending on who we play, holding them to 32% on 3s was not the reason that we lost.

Wrong Again

I was wrong again. After the loss to Portland I was thinking it would not be a "bad loss". At this point it is dangerously close to being listed as such next March.

Hopefully they can win their conference or conference tourney and help us out.
