Has there been any news on this? Seems like every other school is starting up soon or already has. I can't find any info on U of M's plan.

I don’t know, but we should be getting close to that time. I hope they don’t use the riots as an excuse to delay a decision.

I would hope the riots aren’t still going on then, but if they are it seems like a pretty valid “excuse.”

Not to speak for PitionFan, but I'm guessing he means the aftermath and/or related COVID effects of the riots, rather than the riots themselves. Again I could be completely wrong though and I agree with your point.

I would think that they will have sports this Fall. I hope that it is safe enough to bring the players on campus even for limited team activities and on-line summer classes.

Covid-19 hopefully will be waning due to the weather warming and being more humid.

The biggest healer will be sports coming back. We all deserve a break and a new positive distraction.

The U and other universities have a lot at stake if they don't have sports back.

Recently we've had a number of protests etc. with no social distancing. Many wearing masks, but then again some aren't. Some experts are predicting a rise in Covid-19 due to the protests. I'll be curious to see what happens within the few weeks if there is a sharp rise due to the protests.

Or, conversely, if there is not a significant increase in cases.

Plenty of Gopher players (former, current and future) were at the protests. Hopefully they wore masks and continue to keep themselves safe during these trying times. I cannot imagine being a young african american male in this current climate.

Liberty is usually a campus of 16,000. After break in March 1900 students returned to campus, quickly after that 700 left for home leaving 1200 on campus. Mostly international students.

Penn State Collegian updates the doings at each B1G school:

As the scheduled start of the 2020 college football season inches closer, Big Ten programs are beginning to outline their plans and contingencies for the offseason and beyond.

Penn State announced in June that it’s pausing student ticket sales, and many schools within the Nittany Lions’ conference have made similar announcements.

Here’s what every Big Ten school has announced so far in regard to players returning and testing positive for the coronavirus and ticket sales for the upcoming season.

Penn State football players returned on June 8, being the first Nittany Lion team allowed to return to campus as Phase I of Penn State Athletics' plan began.

Athletes and coaches were tested upon their returns to Happy Valley and were isolated for one week before beginning voluntary workouts of less than 20 participants each. Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Sandy Barbour announced on Wednesday that 102 athletes have been tested for the coronavirus and zero have returned positive results.

Penn State students received an email in June that student ticket sales have been paused until an official plan is in place regarding seating at Beaver Stadium this fall.
