PJ Fleck Intro Presser: Shared Visions, "The University of Minnesota is my dream"

Fellas/Ladies - It is worth re-watching PJ Fleck's introductory speech.

By golly, he is doing what he said he is going to do starting with a vision. I like the visions of championships.

A culture of serving and giving. Lots of other good tidbits. "Minnesota a national brand".

Zero tolerance coach.

"Recruiting is the number pipeline and lifeline to any program".

One can run thru brick walls for this guy.

Result: Gophers 37 Badgers 15.

Can never tire re-watching this.

This is like watching a cult start. Fleck is a coach, not a manager. Think about that for the long term.

"I watched a team turn a corner." That was the start of this 10 game win streak. Chills.
I stil cry with tears of joy at what is on the horizon. That Dinksconsin game was absolute ecstasy. I still watch the highlights once a month or so.

Re-watching that initial press conference shows just how pathetic Pat Reusse really is -- with Fleck you have a person that is making a positive difference in student's lives and doing exactly what he said he was going to do, with Fat Pat you get a guy that just criticizes and complains.

Pat has become a pain in the b#ttinksi for years with his negative spin. I am not saying that he is not right sometime. It's just the annoying way that he says things in a negative manner just rubs people wrong. The stuff he says and does. He even goes after Heather Fleck who has done nothing but help the Gopher players out.

IMHO, I think deep down he cares about the Gophers, and he is an okay guy. Negativity sells newspapers or get clicks I guess.

My opinion is that negativity about 8-0 sports teams, the coaches, and the coaches wives does not sell newspapers. Telling PJ to f***off doesn't make Fat Pat an okay guy. He's someone that the Trib should drop. Rant over...

Incredible how everything P.J. Said about the process came true. Many people didn’t trust him or like his culture but now most people seem to be jumping in the boat. I do believe though if we win the Big Ten west P.J. will leave. Somebody please gimme a reason why he wouldn’t. My reason is “we are Minnesota we don’t get nice things”.

I wonder if the same dynamics and perceptions about his culture go into some of our top local talent bypassing the Gophers and going elsewhere to to places like Nebraska, and other places.

The perception that his approach is flaky may just rob the opportunity to see for themselves otherwise. Like he said from Day 1, his approach is not for everyone.

The observation that I see especially this season is that genuinely he cares about his players and has a disciplined approach not only to football, but life skills for the players.

Whole nother thread about this but my main reason why he wouldn't leave is that he has worked his butt off for three years to get his culture installed and has a roster primed to really take off in the next year or so. But your reason is the one most fans fall back on as they just assume as soon as any coach has any hint of success they are going to bail on us since apparently we are a MAC school and not in the Big Ten.

I truly think if there is anybody that can recruit from Minnesota and bring a national championship, PJ Fleck is the guy that can make that happen.

Because PJ doesn't want to be just another coach at a helmet school. Staying at MN gives him a chance to be a legend.

PJ Fleck - Minnesota Sports Legend! Ski-U-Mah! Go Gophers!

If you believe in PJ Fleck's legendary chart - they are aiming for more than Big Ten titles in the new Minnesota Gophers Normal.

"A connected team is a dangerous team" - PJ Fleck.
