Pirsig

Is he a Hawkeye lean?

I cared more about this kind of thing when Brewster was around for some reason. Probably because I know Jerry Kill doesn't give a sh*t about kids who don't want to come here so why would I.

He did get a....

4**** ranking from scout. Living in Blue Earth I could see him being a Hawkeye lean. So be it.

Don't think that's the case at all. I know he is visiting there again but I don't think he's a lean my any means.

Just like Pete said, if he comes here awesome, if he doesn't, fuc& him, he'll get an absolute earful from my drunk @ss at TCF.

Kill recruits all top local prospects aggressively...

but if this kid doesn't want to play BT fb for his home state, there are plenty of Minny bigs that do!

If anything, the hatred for Iowa is more intense on the I-90 corridor.

Well if he decides to get his education someplace else. Hopefully he realizes that if he ends up in the cities, he still can go to the Gopher games in the future but he really won't be apart of the overall fun due to his choices.

Furthermore, too bad that perhaps a couple Iowa people down there are trying to mess up his mind for the long haul of loyalty and fun here in Minnesota.

Things are changing here. Go Gophers!

That's pretty much the way i've been thinking lately. If he comes here, nice. If not, see ya.

After all the problems with that program between arrests and the strength program why would any sensible MINNESOTA kid consider going to frickin' iowa. Does he not know we have the PIG!

Are you talking about the guy he trains with in Fairmont, the Hogeye season ticket holder? It sounds like you are from around there, who is all in his ear?

Glad we have a coach who can coach

I find myself not being as concerned about recruiting this year. I am wondering if it was because that was what Brewster was hired for and i felt if we didn't get a 4 star there was no way he could coach a 2 star to be a 4 star athlete. Kill on the other hand has shown that he can coach first and foremost and that has me trusting him. I also don't see him in the mold of Mason - who could also coach - but did not demand excellence from himself when it came to the recruiting trail. Kill strikes me as one who expects excellence in all areas of sports and life.

I agree 100%!

You shouldn't be concerned with recruiting this year as it is back to the Mason days of recruiting. But then again, people were never fired up about TCU's recruiting classes either. It's gonna be tough to be patient to find out if Kill is as good as Patterson.

Patterson had it easy taking over at TCU compared to what Kill has here in MN. Plus TCU does not play a Big Ten like schedele.

TCU won the WAC under Frachionne two years in a row prior to Patterson's arrival. He had a couple of so-so years but he quickly make TCU a very, very good program

I know it's old fashioned (and I've said this before) but I can't see any Minnesota kid playing for any Big Ten team other than Minnesota; going south or west, to Notre Dame or the Ivy League, all well and fine. Playing for another Big Ten school: treason!

yup

I agree with Handsome Pete and gophernut. Excellent!

With all the hype around here and the number of big-time offers this kid has, I'm frankly shocked that he wasn't listed on Lemming's 100 top prospects list that just came out.

To be ranked that high, one would think that Pirsig would have needed to play against a higher level of high-school competition than he has.

Kid's got offers from Auburn, OSU and Michigan, someone somewhere is impressed with his prospects.
