Pirsig, McDonald and Hayes at Gopher game today

Pirsig and his father were at the game today sitting with the staff. I hate to be "that guy" but Pirsig wore a Gopher shirt.

McDonald and Isaac Hayes were there too, with what looked like family members as well.

They were all sitting with members of the Gopher coaching staff.

Go Gophers!!

Encouraging news about Pirsig...but definitely not worth getting our hopes up over. Hopefully McDonald is working his magic on Hayes and Pirsig. Thanks for the post.

I do think it is something to be excited about. It isn't like Pirsig is an in-town kid like McDonald and Hayes who can just swing by whenever. It is a decent drive up here from Blue Earth. I think it shows Minnesota is definitely in the running (at this point at least.)

Thanks for the post. I agree it's all about tempered enthusiasm at this point. With Pirsig blowing up with offers all over the country he won't commit for anywhere for awhile, so I'd say right now driving up on a Sunday to a fairly meaningless game and wearing a Gophers shirt (sadly he's 0-2, at least at the games we know he's been to this year) is about as good a sign as we could expect.

It'd be pretty hard for Pirsig to go to a Gopher basketball game and see the team win right now.

All in all, I'm encouraged!
