Former Gopher Rickey Foggie knew one of his career quarterback rushing records was in peril before Minnesota’s season began last week, but now he’s proudly pointing to his other, loftier mark in program history.
When Mitch Leidner rushed for two touchdowns in the Gophers’ 30-23 victory over Oregon State in last week’s season opener, the Lakeville native increased his career total to 25 TDs, moving past Foggie’s 24 and into first place among Minnesota quarterbacks.
“I knew it was inevitable,” Foggie said this week. “He had the whole season to get two touchdowns. Congratulations to Mitch.”
