per Marcus:

Fruechte is finally being rewarded for his perseverance. In the first four games this season, he caught only one pass, for 5 yards. But in the past two games, he has had five catches combined for 62 yards.

"I'm excited about where we're headed," he said. "But it's been up and down. It's been a journey, for sure. That's what your parents, family members, coaches and teammates are there for -- to help you through tough situations and be there to celebrate with you for the good situations."

Go Gophers!!

Good for IF14. I have been as critical of him as anyone, but really loved what I saw against jNW. Keep it up Isaac!

I agree! Good for IF14. He had a couple of nice catches against Michigan as well. Last year he was often open, targeted, but thrown to poorly. These past two games, targets to him have been converted into positive plays.

Wolitarsky, Jones, Carter, Holland, Maye are the WRs we play with in 2014.
I didnt forget him. I stand by my statement.
The guy didn't mention the kid by name or take shots at him, but I will because there are some areas of concern with his performance that justify him not being on a list of our top five receivers next year.

LOL. Ahh, memories...

As long as we're rehashing old posts... This from me on 9/23 regarding "who will step up?"

Time for #14 to become involved. With a young quarterback, and a young stable of receivers, Isaac needs to get open. Isaac needs to get open and make catches.
I'll admit, if this were to play out, even I'd be surprised.

Call me surprised. It's a nice surprise. It's a spot where we need leadership and experience. #14 is showing both. Yay!

He's not exactly setting the world on fire.......but he's making plays at very opportune times.

The Big IF aka IF14 aka the Caledonia Clipper. He is starting to live up to his many nicknames.

I don't know what people want from Fruechte. It's not like he was a blue chip coming out of high school. If he can build on this then we'll be all right. Still I think Jones is due for a big game and it might be Saturday.

You crack me up man. I didn't think he would be a factor this year. I came out and said I was surprised/impressed with his recent performance. Admitted I was too critical of him. And you go back 6-months to find posts that show what I just admitted. Not sure of the point. As my signature clearly states - my posts contain opinions and speculation. This won't be the last time I'm wrong.

And definitely not the first time you're wrong.

Since we're all patting ourselves on the back, I think this was my favorite post from June 8, 2012

I think the name we need to remember is Fruechte. My prediction is that during his senior season (2014) he'll start very slowly, like 1 catch for 5 yards the first 4 games slow, but by the time we're 5-1 in 2014 (book it) he'll probably have 6 catches for around 67 yards.
