per Marcus:

Gophers basketball coach Richard Pitino is a New York Giants fan, so he watched the dirty play that resulted in wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. being suspended for a game by the NFL.

Pitino decided to use Beckham as an example for his players at how not to respond after getting frustrated in a game. Minnesota even watched a video of when Beckham targeted Carolina Panthers defensive back Josh Norman with a helmet-to-helmet hit.

“We had a long talk with everybody about the team,” Pitino said. “We have an expression ‘get out of yourself and into the team.’ That doesn’t mean that your selfish…But putting your head down because your frustrated with yourself hurts the team. It’s like Odell Beckham on Sunday. What he was doing hurt the team. We’re constantly talking about that. We showed the team an edit of Odell Beckham, and just what he did. A talent like that, he let the other team get into his head. It affected the team.”

Go Gophers!!

Is Pitino referring to the team as a whole or was this pointed at Charles Buggs? With Buggs having sat out the Ok St game, it seems to me that this is directed towards him.

It's possible! Having seen Buggs get called for some rough fouling...........

I was thinking about the line where Pitino mentions "putting your head down because you are frustrated with yourself."
