per Greder:
Potential returning playmakers are 5-foot-10 senior receiver KJ Maye, who caught 16 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown, and junior wideout Drew Wolitarsky, who battled injuries to catch 10 passes for 106 yards.
“(Maye) had a good year last year, and I don’t think we realized how good of a year until we go back on film,” Kill said.
Kill said reports from Leidner were that Wolitarsky lost weight during the summer and is healthy.
Besides Jones, promising redshirt freshman receivers include Melvin Holland Jr., Desmond Gant and Isaiah Gentry.
“We have better athletes than we have ever had before,” said Leidner, a redshirt junior. “We lost a couple guys on offense and defense, but overall I think we have tremendous depth. … Our skill guys have gotten a lot better, and our receivers look good.”
Leidner worked with the wide receivers about five times a week during summer workouts.
“I would have to say the guy that took the most strides would be Melvin Holland,” Leidner said. “He looks great. … Hopefully he can be a big part of our offense this year.”
