per Marcus:

The Rams, who play Minnesota on Saturday in Fort Collins, Colo., were rumored to be pursuing Kill as the replacement for longtime coach Sonny Lubick eight years ago. Then-CSU athletics director Paul Kowalczyk had hired Kill at Southern Illinois in 2000.

But Kill said Tuesday he was never offered the Rams job.

“No, just like anything there’s always rumors in the coaching profession, but I never was offered any job at Colorado State,” Kill said on the Big Ten conference call. “The biggest contact I’ve had (with CSU) was with Sonny Lubick. Sonny came out and visited with us…a couple years ago and met with the defensive side of the ball and spent some time with us. I hope he don’t remember too much.”
