PiPress: Jeff Jones making strides in year of adjustment

The first play from scrimmage last year versus TCU was a perfectly executed screen pass to Edwards who promptly dropped it. The defense was fooled, the blocking was set up, that might explain why we didn't see it much last year.

Man I remember that too clearly,,,hopefully Edwards doesn't so he'll have a good year.

I'm perplexed by the concern people are expressing over Jeff Jones practicing at WR. What's lost by him practicing at WR? His pass blocking will suffer obviously but he's not in the game to pass block. He is in the game to make plays with the ball in his hand. Do people really think he will lose that ability to line up in the backfield and run the football just because he isn't practicing at RB?

Are you sure it was TCU?

First series starts at 1:48

I think if ever there was a situation where the coaches may actually "hide" a player or wrinkle, it might be this one.
Gary Patterson is a notorious workaholic, digging up minute details and planning for everything. I'm sure he has broken down everything he can, probably even online content.
If getting Jones the ball in new and creative ways, or even just in ways that weren't used in this offense previously, then it would make sense to wait until the closed practices to add reps to those type of plays.

Oh, no, GHer's have been giving away Kill's strategies and tricks! Damn, people, keep it to yourself!

You got that right. Discussions like this makes me really appreciate Ryan Burns. He actually knows what he is talking about.

So you are disappointed that fans are discussing players, positions, eligibility, and strategies on a fan message board. Man, if you want something more than that you are in the wrong place. Seriously, go somewhere else. Your "I'm better than you / I know better than you" stick is getting so old.

Exact same thing happened in the spring game last year and against Michigan.

Also I think Rodrick Williams is expected to be the main guy pounding the rock this year. Kill style.
