On Monday, coach Tracy Claeys said the Gophers will be “awfully good” at wide receiver. However, he declined to outline a starting wideout corps.
“It’s not a depth chart; it’s a position chart now, so I haven’t even asked those guys (coaches) who they are going to put in there,” Claeys said.
Claeys said Tuesday the group’s collective speed and size are two reasons for his positive assessment.
“It will probably be the biggest group of receivers that we’ve had since we’ve been here,” Claeys said. “With the size, you can create separation, and they just have to catch the ball — consistently catch the ball.”
