Jonah Pirsig's back-and-forth season will continue in Monday's Quick Lane Bowl against Central Michigan. The junior offensive tackle has moved from the right side to left and back to right this season.

Gophers coach Tracy Claeys is just satisfied Pirsig remained on the field for all 12 games. Pirsig was the only offensive lineman to start each regular-season game, and he could move back to the left side against the Chippewas.

"We got to find more of them that are bell cows like that and can make it the whole (season)," Claeys said.

Moving Pirsig from right to left came after teammates went down with injuries, and then at midseason, he went back to the right side cover to up his right shoulder injury.

After this season, the Gophers are losing tackles Josh Campion, Ben Lauer and Foster Bush. Pirsig, who started eight games at right tackle and four at left tackle, said he doesn't prefer one spot.

"It doesn't matter to me; I'm just thankful that I have a position to play," said Pirsig, who is 6 feet 9 and 324 pounds.
