Jerry Kill feels "in the best shape of his life" and has been working with an epilepsy specialist, the University of Minnesota football coach said Wednesday at Big Ten Media Day in Chicago.

Kill, who is a cancer survivor, has never missed an entire game because of his seizure disorder. Last season, he missed the second half of the Gophers' 26-10 loss Nov. 24 against Michigan State after suffering a seizure during halftime.

"I'm doing great," Kill said at his Wednesday news conference when asked about his health. "I appreciate you asking. Things are going great for me. I've got a great doctor that's a specialist in epilepsy. I've been doing great, looking forward to the season.

"I may not look it, but I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life."

Go Gophers!!

Mayo Clinic. It is what it is. Minnesota, hats off to thee.

Why doesn't Dantonio get asked this question every year?

And Hoke, who isn't in the best shape of his life.

Saw and spoke to Coach Kill at the Cragun's Golf Outing in Brainerd and he looked great. Last time I saw Coach Kill was in Houston and it looks like he's dropped about 10 pounds.

Coach Kill could miss a game or a half game once a season and I would still take him over any of the other BIG coaches. Kill is a man. Great leader! I believe this season will be the beginning of a great run for Gopher Football!!

He definitely looked rather sharp and healthier than he has in years at media. I think it helps that he's getting more and more comfortable with the product on the field, maybe he's able to put just a bit more attention on himself and making sure he's as healthy as he can be.
