The Gophers rushed for 243 yards against Rutgers on Saturday, but it was the one and two yards they didn’t get that stuck with coach Tracy Claeys.

Holding onto a slim 31-29 lead in the fourth quarter, the Gophers had four conversion attempts on third and fourth downs, needing only a yard or two. They went 0 for 3, with a fourth to-be attempt undermined by a false start penalty.

“We’ve got to do a better job on short-yardage stuff,” Claeys said Sunday.
