Last week, an ESPN commentator suggested “Slash” for Smith and “Bash” for Brooks. It was ridiculed on Twitter; it didn’t stick with them, either.

“It was kind of weird,” Smith said. “Shannon didn’t like the ‘Bash’ part.”

“Rodney can run just as well,” Gophers coach Tracy Claeys said. “A lot of times, he’ll outrun you a little bit more than Shannon will. Shannon would prefer to run through you, but those kids get along so great. They’re both happy for each other.”
